If I were to list my all-time favorite computer games, Divine Divinity would be very near the top of that list. I wrote a large retrospective on the game here. Featuring excellent writing, huge dungeons, humor, complexity, great design and well-balanced combat, Divine Divinity is one of those rare and truly great games.
The follow-up ? Beyond Divinity ? never really grabbed me the same way, and I only finished it once many years ago.
But the sequel, Divinity II: Ego Draconis was an excellent but flawed game that launched the series in a fresh new direction, as I wrote about in my review. Then, a year later Larian righted all of the mistakes from the original release and added the huge ?Flames of Vengeance? expansion to what they called the Dragon Knight Saga ? and I gushed about it in my review.
Now developer Larian Studios has remastered the original Divine Divinity and Beyond Divinity for Windows 7 and HD resolutions, and also updated the Divinity II games with fixes and tweaks ? and wrapped it up in a great limited edition box signed by the development team (while supplies last) or a digital download package with soundtracks and more!
Ten years in the making, the Divinity Anthology collects all games set in the acclaimed Divinity universe. Experience the remastered versions of these epic fantasy RPGs; enjoy the many unique extras that come with this exclusive edition and celebrate a decade of Divinity!
And rather than some overly-dramatic fantasy trailer, Lar has done an infomercial style announcement for the package. It is great fun and a cool way to celebrate one of the great franchises in gaming.
